Terms and Conditions
- Health
It is the responsibility of all walkers to ensure that they are physically fit enough to take part in the walks that they have chosen and, to the best of their knowledge, that they have no medical conditions that preclude them from taking part in those walks. - Age
Children under the age of 14 are welcome on any walk, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is 18 or older. - Starting Time
Please arrive at the start point at least 20 minutes prior to the start of each walk in order to register. This is especially important for walks that include a bus journey. Walks will commence at the quoted start time whether all participants have arrived or not. - Transport
We will be providing a bus to transport walkers between the hostel accommodation and the start or finish of the castal path walk each day. The bus will be routed to pass the end point for the walk on the way to the start point, each day, to pick up drivers who wish to leave vehicles at the end point of the walk for that day. A charge of £2 per day will be charged for anyone wishing to make use of this bus service. - Group size
Each walk is led by a walk leader and accompanied by a back marker. We aim for a ratio of no more than 20 walkers to each leader. Where a group size exceeds 20 walkers, additional leaders will be appointed to accompany the group. - Weather
The walk leaders will be at the starting point whatever the weather. However, in exceptional weather conditions, the walk may be re-routed or cancelled to ensure your safety. - Clothing & Footwear
Adequate and comfortable footwear is essential with the appropriate clothing for the conditions likely to be encountered. It is recommended that walkers bring some food and drink for the duration of the walks where applicable. This is essential for the coastal path walk since long stretches of the costal path are remote from local services. - Dogs
Dogs are welcomed on any walk, except where indicated on the walks schedule. Dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times. - Alterations
The organisers reserve the right to alter the festival programme without prior notice. The details in this programme are believed to be correct at the time of going to print. - Liability
Organisers have endeavoured to ensure the safety of all participants in the festival. However, they cannot be held liable for any injury to, loss of, or damage to, personal property, however caused, except to the extent to which it is unlawful to exclude such liability under applicable law. We advise you to take out insurance against accident and personal injury. It is the responsibility of those taking part in the walks to satisfy themselves that they are sufficiently fit and adequately attired for the walk. The walk leaders reserve the right to refuse all ill-equipped walkers the right to participate in the walk that they are leading.
